Dr. Muizzu proposes dedicated ministry for local councils

The PPM-PNC presidential candidate, Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, has outlined plans to establish a separate ministry for local councils.

Speaking at a campaign rally held at Haa Dhaalu Finey on Saturday, Dr. Muizzu emphasized his commitment to creating a specialized ministry aimed at empowering local councils. He stated that the state budget's current grant for council empowerment is not adequate and pledged to allocate more funds to councils if he is elected.

Dr. Muizzu said under his government, support would be provided to local councils to expand and broaden development projects implemented in the islands. Recognizing that Finey has potential for tourism expansion, Dr. Muizzu said he would work to attract investors to further promote and expand the island's tourism sector.
