The PPM-PNC presidential candidate, Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, has pledged to enhance the salaries of workers across all sectors once the nation's economy is revitalized and stabilized.
Dr. Muizzu made the pledge while speaking at a campaign event at Haa Dhaalu Nolhivaram on Saturday night. He expressed his determination to address the economic challenges faced by the country, ultimately clearing the path for salary enhancements across all sectors.
"To be honest, we don't have any reservations about tackling the economic challenges,” he said.
Noting that salary increments serve an important purpose, Dr. Muizzu said many employees resign from their positions due to low wages. As the financial incentives from the job are unappealing, they do not have an interest in their work or get any satisfaction from it, he said.
Dr. Muizzu further said employees working in all sectors are important to move the country forward. He emphasized that a stable and nurturing environment is essential to create responsible workers.
