As part of the government's housing policy, a total of 300 flats will be allocated to workers in the tourism sector.
A government official Monday told AVAS that the Planning Ministry will announce the policy later that evening. The decision to allocate these flats was made by President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, he said.
The main requirement for applying for the flat is having worked as a local in the tourism sector for a minimum of 15 years.
This initiative follows the recent decision to provide land to individuals who have resided in Male' City for 20 years and flats to those with 15 years of city residency. It aligns with the government's previous allocation of land to 19,842 eligible individuals under the Binveriyaa Scheme and its forthcoming allocation of flats to 16,923 eligible participants under the Gedhoruveriyaa Scheme.
