Gov't to allocates over 4,000 residential plots and 6,000 flats in Male' area

The government has decided to allocate more than 4,000 residential plots and 6,000 flats from the Male' Area.

According to the Planning Ministry, the application process for these land plots and flats is expected to open today or tomorrow.

While the flats will be allocated from Hulhumale', the specific area for the land allocation has not yet been disclosed. The government has assured that the designated area will be connected to Male' via a bridge.

At a campaign rally held on September 19 at Male' Galolhu Kanmathi, President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih said a housing program targeted at individuals who emigrated to Male' and have been living in the capital city for over 20 years will be announced soon.

"Today, we have decided to launch another housing scheme aimed at providing land plots and houses to those registered in the Male' Dhaftharu for over 20 years and those who have resided in Male' for over 20 years," the president had said.

The government recently allocated land to 19,842 people eligible under the Binveriyaa Scheme and is set to allocate flats to 16,923 people eligible under the Gedhoruveriyaa Scheme.
