An employee who videotaped and publicized the destruction of Fuel Supply Maldives (FSM)'s documents has been suspended.
The video was posted on social media by FSM meter technician Ahmed Anees. The video showed FSM's documents being destroyed using a concrete crushing machine.
Anees explained that he recorded and shared the video because he believed the company's document disposal process did not align with standard procedures. He was under the impression that these documents were probably destroyed in this way because they likely held evidence of misconduct.
Following the video being posted on social media, Anees, who had been working for FSM for eight years, was suspended after being summoned to the company's HR department. Anees said the suspension letter did not clearly state the issue under investigation.
