Pres Dr. Muizzu reconstitutes Police Board, Shareef appointed as board's Chair

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu constituted the new Police Board on Thursday, per Section 75(a) of the Police Service Act.

The board's composition includes two members appointed by the president, three professionals from technical fields, and two members selected from the general public.

Following the removal of four board members post-President Dr. Muizzu's inauguration, he appointed five new members. The newly appointed members are Ahmed Shareef, Aishath Noora Mohamed, Ali Naseer Qasim, Ahmed Azmee, and Ahmed Saudy.

Ahmed Shareef and Aishath Noora Mohamed were appointed as members appointed by the president. The board has approved Shareef as its Chairperson and Noora as the Vice Chair.

Shareef was the Senior Council Executive at the Male' City Council during President Dr, Muizzu's tenure as Male' City Mayor. He has also held the position of the council's Secretary General.

Meanwhile, Ali Naseer Qasim, Ahmed Azeem, and Ahmed Saudy as professionals from technical fields.

The existing members of the police board are Hamid Abdul Ghafoor and Safa Shareef; both members appointed from the general public.
