Maldives Immigration has implemented measures to streamline passport issuance services in all cities. The decision is aligned with President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu's directive to enhance accessibility to services.
Immigration said the recent changes aim to expedite and simplify the passport issuance process in cities. In this regard, Addu City will now issue passports four days a week, up from two days a week. Passports were previously issued once a week in Fuvahmulah, Thinadhoo, and Kulhudhuffushi and will now be issued twice a week in these three cities.
Immigration also resumed the e-gate service at Velana International Airport (VIA) last week. Effective November 20, Maldives Immigration also lifted the mandatory requirement for locals to fill out the IMUGA Traveler Declaration form when departing from or returning to the Maldives.
