Maldives records 0.08 percent decline in October inflation rates

Inflation in the Maldives fell by 0.08 percent in October compared to the previous month.

According to the Consumer Price Index (CPI) released by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), prices fell by 0.07 percent in October, excluding raw fish. Fruit prices fell by 1.80 percent in October, while electricity prices fell by 0.95 percent. Air transport prices reduced by 2.06 percent, and meat prices declined by 1.81 percent.

In contrast, vegetable prices rose 2.46 percent in October, while clothing and footwear prices rose 0.13 percent.

Although the month-on-month inflation decreased by 0.08 percent in October compared to September, prices of goods and services reflected an overall increase of 2.64 percent in October compared to the same period last year.
