Decline in prices of goods and services in November

The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) has reported a decline in the prices of goods and services in the Maldives in November compared to October.

According to the Consumer Price Index (CPI), prices fell by 0.48 percent in November compared to the previous month. Excluding changes in fish prices, inflation fell by 0.50 percent in November.

Categories of goods and services that depreciated:

Mobile Phone Communication Services (-9.42%)
Fruits (-5.60%)
Household Items (-1.33%)
Electricity (-0.31%)

However, prices of some commodities, including vegetables, meat, and eggs, rose in November.

Vegetables (+1.41%)
Shoes and Footwear (+1.37%)
Sugar, Jam, Honey, Chocolate (+1.32%)
Gas (+1.10%)
Meat (+0.69%)
Eggs and dairy products (+0.31%)

Meanwhile, prices of clothing rose 1.12 percent in November this year.
