New administration pays over MVR 101 mln in compensation in first two weeks

The newly inaugurated administration of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has disbursed over MVR 101.7 million in compensation during its initial two weeks in office, according to the Finance Ministry's Weekly Fiscal Developments Report. The payments were made between November 17 and November 30.

The report details that no compensation was disbursed from November 17 to November 23, with MVR 101.7 million being paid out between November 24 and November 30.

Statistics show a total of MVR 438.1 million was paid this year as compensation by former President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih as of November 16 this year. With the additional MVR 101.7 million disbursed by the current administration, the cumulative compensation payments for the year have reached MVR 539.8 million. This marks an increase of MVR 438.6 million over the initially budgeted MVR 101.2 million for the year.
