President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has said those who have been gazetted as recipients of land and flats under the previous government's housing schemes will receive their deeds within the next two weeks.
In a post on social media platform X, President Dr. Muizzu said as promised, those listed in the final list of recipients will receive their land and flat registries soon.
In addition, the President said that the work of dredging land in designated areas is being carried out to hand over the land to those who have received land or flats from these areas.
“We are also preparing to dredge more land from the Giravaru Falhu,” he said.
The new government intends to address the housing crisis in the Greater Male' Area by dredging substantial land in Fushidhiggaru Falhu and developing 'Ras Male' city on this reclaimed land. While the project has already commenced, dredging work is also ongoing in Hulhumale' Phase III, Gulhufalhu, and Giraavaru Falhu.
