Velana International Airport (VIA) has seen a record number of flight movements.
The Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL), which operates the VIA, said a total of 925 air traffic movements were made on January 6. These include 672 seaplane movements, 104 international flight movements, 116 domestic movements, and 33 private jet movements.
The previous highest number of movements recorded was 861 movements.
More than 50,000 tourists have arrived in the Maldives thus far this year.
