Agreement signed with China to build 30,000 housing units in RasMale'

The Maldives government signed an agreement with China to build 30,000 housing units as part of the Fushidhiggaru Falhu -- RasMale'-- development project.

The Maldives government has thus far signed 20 key agreements with China during President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu's ongoing state visit to China. Among these agreements is the commitment to build housing units in RasMale'. While the specifics of China's assistance to the project are yet to be disclosed, a government official confirmed that details would be revealed later.

The RasMale' reclamation project kicked off on December 18 last year. According to the government, 65,000 housing units will be developed in RasMale' including land plots and flats. The Maldives has requested the assistance of Chinese investors for development projects in the Maldives, including the RasMale' project, at the Maldives Invest Forum in Fujian Province, China.
