A 30-year-old local man has sustained serious injuries in an accident that occurred in Fuvahmulah City due to overspeeding.
The accident occurred at approximately 10:10 pm on Saturday night along Fuvahmulah City's Bodufannu Magu when the motorcyclist lost control of the speeding vehicle. While sources report the driver sustained serious injuries, details of his injuries could not be obtained.
The victim was initially taken to Fuvahmulah Hospital for treatment. However, due to the severity of his injuries, he has been transported to Male' City via a Maldivian charter flight for further medical care.
The police are investigating the accident.
