Members express outrage over PNC decision to bar certain candidates from primary

The ruling Peoples' National Congress (PNC)'s decision to disallow certain individuals from participating in the party's upcoming parliamentary primary has sparked outrage within the party.

The PNC parliamentary primary is scheduled to be held this Saturday.

The party has informed that it would not accept the candidacies of certain individuals due to their alleged role in fostering discord within the party and insufficient contributions and service to the party. The decision was informed via a letter signed by the party's Chairperson, Abdul Raheem Abdulla.

Following the decision, some party members gathered outside the party office to express their frustration over the decision.

It is not yet clear how many candidates were denied the opportunity to contest the parliamentary primary.
