The installation of additional lifts at the Hiyaa Towers has been contracted to China's Shenyang Yuanda Intellectual Group.
A total of 32 elevators will be installed under the project, including one passenger and one stretcher lift in each of the 16 Hiyaa towers.
According to Housing Development Corporation (HDC), the work will be completed within a year. This initiative will fulfill a presidential pledge made by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu to resolve the elevator congestion problem faced by Hiyaa residents.
The HDC said the installation of these elevators is expected to significantly reduce elevator queues and waiting times. The company is committed to improving living standards and ensuring convenience for Hiyaa residents, HDC affirmed.
