Maldives excluded from India's special onion export list, reports suggest

Several Indian newspapers have reported that the Maldives is not included in the latest list of nations granted special permission by the Indian government for onion exports.

India had imposed a ban on onion exports from December last year until March this year. However, certain countries continue to receive onions through special permits granted by relevant Indian authorities.

According to reports in Indian newspapers, the Maldives is notably absent from the list of nations granted special permission for onion exports. This development comes amid strained relations between India and Maldives. As per the most recent list, India plans to export onions to Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, Mauritius, and Bahrain.
