The salaries of the police and army will be increased from March, President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has said.
Responding to a question at the "Ahaa" forum on Friday, President Dr. Muizzu revealed that the new salary structure would come into effect next month. However, he did not elaborate on the matter.
This announcement aligns with President Dr. Muizzu's campaign promise made during a rally at Artificial Beach on September 15, where he pledged to double the salaries of police and MNDF. The move comes while a parliamentary motion was filed by Fuvahmulah Central MP Hussain Mohamed Didi last Wednesday urging the expedited implementation of the salary increments for the police and MNDF.
