The Transport Ministry has announced guidelines for the transportation of goods during the holy month of Ramadan and the first seven days of Shawwal.
According to the ministry, commercial goods transportation will be permitted between 9:30 am and 04:30 pm and from 08:00 pm to 06:00 am from the first of Ramadan until the 19th of Ramadan, and from Shawwal 1 until Shawwal 7th. This applies to all types of goods and vehicles, including heavy vehicles.
From the 20th of Ramadan until the end of Ramadan, heavy vehicles and all types of goods vehicles will be allowed to load and transport goods from 6:00 am to 4:30 pm and again from 8:00 pm to 6:00 am.
The ministry said a fine of MVR 750 would be enforced for any violations of these regulations, and encouraged all to comply with the prescribed rules.
