Gov't seeks public consultation for Giraavaru Falhu Land Use Plan

The Housing Ministry is seeking public opinion on the Land Use Plan for Giraavaru Falhu.

The last government allocated 9,003 plots of land in Hulhumale, Gulhifalhu, and Giravaarufalhu. Of these, 5,433 plots were allocated from Giraavarufalhu.

The land use plan for Giraavaru Falhu has already been released by the ministry, and the ministry is now seeking the opinion of those who were allocated land from Giraavaru regarding the plan. According to the ministry, the public consultation meeting on the land use plan is scheduled for March 27. The venue and time of the meeting will be announced later.

The former government had decided to dredge 169 hectares of land from the Giravaru Falhu. However, President Dr. Muizzu has decided to dredge an additional 50 hectares of land for a total of 219 hectares. According to the land use plan, a significant part of the land is reserved for residential purposes. In addition, land has been allocated for social and sports activities, mosques, hospitals, industrial works, and other purposes.
