Addu City's 6000-bed coastal tourism project ready for launching

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has announced that the 6000-bed Addu Coastal Tourism Development project is ready for kick-off.

Speaking at a campaign event for the ruling PNC candidate contesting the Addu Hulhudhoo constituency in the upcoming parliamentary election, President Dr. Muizzu said the tourism project would be commenced soon, in conjunction with other projects in Addu City

"The project will also work towards the development of[Addu City's] airport to new international heights. We are working to develop Addu City together with other related projects, including the development of a seaplane hub," he said.

The president also revealed plans for the commencement of the bridge project linking Hithadhoo and Hulhumeedhoo within Addu City later this year.

During his visit to Addu City in February, President Dr. Muizzu emphasized the transformative impact of the coastal tourism project to the southern region. He reiterated its significance in driving economic growth and fostering opportunities within the tourism sector.
