A medical check-up package for those over the age of 35 and special school screening for school children under the age of 18 has been introduced under the national health insurance scheme, Aasandha.
This initiative aligns with Dr. Mohamed Muizzu's pledge to arrange medical checkups twice a year under Aasandha, as outlined in his Week 14 RoadMap for the first 100 days of administration.
Aasandha Company said a medical check-up package for those aged 35 is now active as part of a special policy to facilitate every citizen to get medical check-ups twice a year under the Aasandha scheme. Additionally, special tests for school children of certain grades will be conducted through government hospitals.
Aasandha said the medical checkup package introduced on January 1 this year has been revised, taking into account some difficulties encountered in the implementation of the package. In this regard, basic packages for those over the age of 19 have been amended.
The new packages introduced for those above the age of 35, and those above the age of 40 include tests for early cancer detection. Tests other than cancer screening tests with specific testing periods can be conducted once a year under the scheme. Tests recommended to be done at a specific period can also be done under the scheme if recommended by a doctor.
