The State Trading Organization (STO) has imported a shipment of ginger and garlic to the Maldives, offering them to the public at affordable prices. The shipment comes at a time when the rice of garlic and ginger has started rising in the Maldivian market.
According to STO, a bag of ginger is now available at MVR 273, with a discounted rate of MVR 263 per bag for purchases of five bags or more. Similarly, a bag of garlic is priced at MVR 302, while bulk purchase of five bags reduces the price per bag to MVR 292.
STO has always played an important role in controlling the prices of basic commodities during the month of Ramadan.
