The ruling People’s National Congress (PNC) candidate for Sh. Funadhoo Council, Aminath Yumna has been elected to the council's women-designated seat.
The seat became vacant with the resignation of Suwaidha Hussain. Yumna was elected to the seat by default as she was the sole candidate who applied to contest the by-election scheduled for June 8.
The PNC won four of the six island council by-elections held on the 4th of this month.
