A group involved in a robbery at a Hiyaa flat in Hulhumale Phase II has been arrested.
Photos circulating on social media show four individuals caught attempting to rob an apartment in Hiyaa Tower 1, who were stripped and made to stand outside Tower 1 by the tower's residents.
Police reported that they were alerted to the incident and said reports that the robbers had previously stolen significant amounts of money from several other victims on various occasions had also been brought to their attention. The arrested individuals are four locals aged 32, 32, 36, and 45.
Residents have reported an increase in robberies and snatching incidents in the Hiyaa area.
