A man has been arrested for allegedly stealing MVR 1.5 million.
The arrested individual, Abdulla Jameel, 33, of AA. Mathiveri, has several previous criminal records. He was arrested and produced before the court, where he was remanded in custody for 15 days. His arrest warrant report shows that the theft was an organized and planned theft involving multiple people. He has been charged with trespassing, damage to property and theft.
Records show that the police public announced for Abdulla to appear in court in connection with a fraud case in 2021. In 2023, he was sentenced to one year in prison for making a fake bank slip and carrying out a transaction in a store. Additionally, in early 2020, the prosecution charged Abdulla Jameel with smuggling alcohol to Mathivari island.
