MFDA bans import and use of drugs manufactured by Thai company

The Maldives Food and Drug Authority (MFDA) has instructed not to use or import medicines manufactured by Thailand's Seven Stars Pharmaceutical Co.

The MFDA has advised against buying 15 drugs manufactured by the pharmaceutical company as Thailand's Drug Regulatory Authority has reported that the drugs contained a dangerous chemical.

This decision follows a report from Thailand's Drug Regulatory Authority indicating that 15 medications manufactured by the company contain a hazardous chemical. Although these drugs are not currently imported into the Maldives, the MFDA has issued this advisory due to the high number of Maldivians who travel to Thailand for medical treatment.
