HA. Maarandhoo Council Vice-President Ahmed Rameez has passed away.
Sources in Maarandhoo said Rameez’s health deteriorated after he participated in the last half of football match between a Maarandhoo youth team and a HDh. Nellaidhoo youth team on Saturday. He passed away while being treated at HA. Dhidhdhoo Atoll Hospital shortly after 8 pm the same day.
According to reports, Rameez left game after a brief period on the pitch due to severe exhaustion. While on the bench, he vomited, and then sought treatment at the island health center. Later, he started to lose consciousness and his condition worsened, and he was subsequently transferred to Dhidhdhoo, where he passed away.
Rameez is survived by his wife and three children.
