The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) is seeking to recruit a Policy Executive to help formulate and implement national policies to prevent corruption.
According to ACC, the Policy Executive will be responsible for advising on anti-corruption matters and making public disclosures on the prevention and prohibition of corrupt practices.
The basic salary for the position is MVR 12,000, with an additional daily allowance of MVR 276 and overtime pay for extra hours worked. Candidates must hold a minimum of a degree, and must not be a member of any political party.
The recruitment of a Policy Executive for ACC comes while the Deputy Speaker of Parliament Ahmed Nazim recently criticized the commission, starting that ACC has failed to product tangible results. He said that despite cases being submitted to the ACC, the commission sits on these cases for long periods, resulting in the deadline for prosecution expiring and the cases being dismissed.
"The same thing is every term. But nothing is done. We have to keep changing [the members of] the commission, and when another five members are appointed, they repeat the same thing,” Nazim said, criticizing ACC’s performance.
