Aishath Ulya Shaaiq has set a new national record in the women's short course 50m freestyle at the University of Western Australia (UWA) West Coast Club Night #7 meet.
Ulya completed the event in 00:28:75, surpassing her previous record of 00:28:81, which she set at the Breakers Big Splash June 2024 meet in Australia.
Ulya is scheduled to compete in the Olympic slots for swimming allocated to countries that do not qualify. She will be joined by Mohamed Aan Hussain.
