Maldivian swimmers Aan and Hama set five new national records

Maldivian swimmers Mohamed Aan Hussain and Hamna Ahmed have broken five national records at the 20th National Short Track Championships and Hajos Alfred Kupa III in Hungary.

Aan set three new records, including breaking the eight-year-old 100m freestyle record twice in one month, setting the latest at 00:53.45. He also set records in the 50m backstroke with a time of 00:28.22 and the 50m freestyle at 00:24.29.

Hamna set two event records in breaststroke events, including the 100m breaststroke record which had remained unchallenged for five years, with a time of 01:23.76. She also improved her own 50m breaststroke record from last year to 00:37.13.
