A yellow alert has been issued for a large area of the Maldives due to anticipated severe weather conditions.
The Maldives Meteorological Service (MET Office) issued the alert for the area between Haa Alif and Thaa Atoll. The alert will remain active until 1 pm today.
According to MET Office, heavy rain and winds of 25 to 30 mph are expected in the affected area. Gusts will reach up to 50 mph during showers and seas are expected to be rough.
