MET Office warns against sea travel amid rough weather

The national weather service, Maldives Meteorological Service (MET Office) has issued a warning against sea travel due to adverse weather conditions.

The forecast predicts rough seas in the southern seas until 6:00 pm, with wave heights expected to reach 4–7 feet. The northern and central seas will be moderately rough with wave heights of 3–6 feet, becoming rougher during showers.

The Met Office forecasts showers and thunderstorms in parts of the north and south. The central atolls will be affected by light showers. Winds are expected to range from 15–25 mph in southern atolls and 10–20 mph in other regions, with gusts up to 45 mph during showers.
