Man arrested for attempted robbery under pretense of Aasandha assistance

A 41-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly luring a victim into a house under the guise of helping to arrange Aasandha medical insurance and robbing him.

The suspect was produced before the Criminal Court on Wednesday, where he was remanded for 15 days.

According to the arrest order, the suspect has a prior record of robbery and other crimes. The incident reportedly took place near Republic Square, where the suspect met the victim and convinced him to accompany him to a house on Finihiyaa Goolhi, claiming he would assist with the Aasandha process. Once inside the house, the suspect allegedly threatened the victim by pressing a pen to his neck and demanded his phone and money.
