High Court rules death penalty on Shifan's murder case

High Court rules death penalty for Mohamed Shaifan, on the murder of Ma. Fairy Corner, Ali Shifaan. The High Court ruled that there was enough evidence to prove that Mohamed Shaifan had actively carried out the murder of Ali Shifaan.

The Prosecutor General's office had charged initially charged six individuals with first degree murder. However the Criminal court ruled that there was no evidence that could link the six individuals on the murder of Ali Shifaan. The prosecutor general's office then appealed the case of three of the individuals convicted on the suspicion of murdering Ali Shifaan.

The High Court had ruled that the evidence presented in court was sufficient in proving that Mohamed Shaifan was guilty of murdering Ali Shifaan. The court ruled that the evidence present was not sufficient enough to convict the remaining two.

Days after the hearing of the appealed case had finished, the court had finally ruled today that the evidence presented was enough to prove that Mohamed Shaiman had murdered Ali Shifaan. The court ruled that Shaiman would be given the death penalty on the charges of first degree murder.
