Elections Commission team heads to Dominican Republic

A team from the Elections Commission has left for the Dominican Republic to observe an election that is schedule to be held on Sunday.

The EC team that left for the Dominican Republic consists of the Senior IT officer Aminath Azeefa and Commission Member Ahmed Akram. The team is expected to observe the election very closely.

The Elections Commission revealed that the team is expected to closely observe how the elections system works in the Dominican Republic. The team also has to report to the Elections Commission on the details of the elections that is going to take place.

The Elections Commission Team has to closely monitor the electronic voting system as the EC is set to introduce Electronic Voting in the Maldives. Giving further details EC revealed that the team had a lot of work cut out for them as the EC is gets ready to implement the Electronic Voting system in Maldives. The team is set to sit with different leaders and discuss the pros and cons of the Electronic voting system, and get some insight as to how it operates in different environments.

The team is scheduled to be back next week after the seven day trip.
