May earnings drop by 19 percent

Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA) has said that earnings for May had dipped by 19.9 percent.

MIRA statistics for last month shows that the state had earned MVR 887.3 million in earnings. This is 19.9 percent lower than the amount predicted for this month. This is a 5.6 percent dip compared to last April's performance.

MIRA said in May, 607.8 million was collected as GST, MVR 71 million as BPT and MVR 54.8 million was collected as Tourism Land Rent. MIRA said last month, MVR 35.9 million was collected as dollar earnings.
