Maldives, 32 nations agree to protect Muslims, Islam

Maldives and 32 other Islamic nation has held discussions on the various challenges facing Islam today and how to protect Muslims.

The discussions were held in the 26th Arab Islamic Conference. The discussions centered on the measures that can be implemented both on a national and individual level to protect the sanctity of Islam and offer protection to Muslims facing persecution in various parts of the world.

The Maldives also took part in the conference held Egypt on the 14th and the 15th of this month. Minister of State for Islamic Affairs Ali Waheed Abdul Rahman represented Maldives in the conference.

The participating nations had discussed and agreed on 15 core areas that address the challenges facing Islam today.
