Govt. hands over aid to Sri Lanka flood victims

The Government has handed over the cash collected as part of the relief efforts for those affected by the floods in Sri Lanka.

The proceeds were handed over in a meeting held in Sri Lanka's Ministry of Disaster Management by Economic Minister Mohamed Saeed. Minister of Disaster Management Priyadharshan Yapa accepted the proceeds on behalf of the Sri Lankan government.

The proceeds were collected as aid to provide assistance to the victims who were affected by the floods. The High Commission had assured that no Maldivians had been affected by the floods. Due to the floods, around half a million Sri Lankans had been affected.
