The visiting members of European Union has met opposition Maldivian Democratic Party.
Discussions centered around the current political status in the country, electronic voting system and Elections Commission.
MDP said that they had shared concerns over the e-voting systems to be introduced to the county with the mission heads, adding the system was not required in the country. The Party added that they had strong objections toward instating that system.
MDP added that they believed that introducing a system at a time when trust in the Independent Commissions was at an all time low, will further erode public faith. MDP further added that they wished to ensure the 2018 elections was independent and fair.
