Additional Police have begun patrols following the spate of gang violence this evening.
Two minors, both 14 year old boys, had passed away in the stabbings that had occurred this evening. In addition to the patrol, Police had initiated a special operation. Under the operation, check points had been established in various parts of Male' to regularly monitor vehicles and individuals.
The first stabbing occurred in Maafannu ward. The minor injured in the scuffle had succumbed to his injuries at around 7.40 pm in IGMH. He was unconscious even when he was brought to the hospital.
The second stabbing occurred in a residence in Maafannu as well. The 14 year old injured passed away while seeking treatment at around 10.30 pm.
The areas are currently under surveillance and Police are active in the area.
