Nineteen individuals arrested as part of the special operation conducted by Police has been released. The 19 were arrested following the murders of two 14-year old boys on the streets of the capital Male'.
Police media official this morning said all of the arrested were released as no conclusive evidence was unearthed during the 24 hour remand period. The official added the they were released without producing them at Court.
Police said the 19 arrested in the operation were not linked to the stabbings. The 19 were arrested after raids on three residences. No individual has been arrested in connection to the murders.
