Economic Ministry has begun preparations for the third Maldives Investment Forum to be held in India in August.
Speaking to Avas, Deputy Minister at Economic Ministry Adam Thaufeeq said that many businesses will be participating in the Forum which will start on August 26th.
"Many local businesses will be participating in this Forum. We're preparing for the Forum," he said.
Adam said the Forum will focus on providing information to potential Indian investors.
"This forum will be a one day Forum. Businesses will get to network. An opening session and meetings will be held as well," he said.
Adam also revealed the Indian Embassy and businesses were preparing for the Forum.
This will be the third session of the Maldives Investment Forum. The Government had initiated legal reforms to create a more conducive environment toward creating more investments. This includes legal reform to the Tourism Act.
The first Maldives Investment Forum was held in Singapore and the second one was held in China. Around 600 companies participated in the last Forum.
