Housing Ministry has revealed that the roads of Male' City will be redesigned and constructed, as part of a major project to renovate the roads of Male'. Housing Minister Dr. Mohamed Muizz said that they have placed the orders to bring in the required machinery for the project. He said some of the machinery will be brought in today.
The Minister did not divulge on the details of the project contractor or the project. He said the paving stones and drainage system will be overhauled.
The Government had also passed to lay asphalt on Bodu Thakurufaanu Magu, surrounding Male' City.
The last road construction project was carried out in the tenure of President Maumoon under the helm of then Public Works Minister Umar Zahir.
