Minister at President's Office Ahmed Zuhoor has been appointed as the Chair of the Economic and Youth Council (EYC) and Vice President Abdullah Jihad has been tasked with managing the Social Council.
President's Office Spokesperson Ibrahim Muaz Ali today tweeted that Minister Zuhoor has been appointed as Chair of the EYC, with Fisheries Minister Dr. Mohamed Shainee as his deputy. He also tweeted that Vice President Abdullah Jihad will be managing the Social Council.
The Social Council, which deals with the health and social sectors of the country, was managed by the Vice President. Following Dr. Jameel's dismissal from the position, the Council was managed directly by the President. The President had also managed EYC, but the general meetings of the Councils were chaired by the Co-Chair.
Zuhoor was appointed to the position yesterday.
