Heritage Department reveals that there are no plans to shift or relocate the minaret at the Friday Mosque.
The Department made the statement at the time when rumors had circulated that the minaret is to be moved to the Friday mosque grounds and public criticism had flowed.
A senior official of the Department reported to Avas that the claims were untrue. The official said if Housing Ministry were to bring any changes the Department will be made aware of the said changes.
Social media posts say that the minaret is to be shifted to increase the road area.
