  • No fixed date for releasing report

Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has stated that the Commission will question additional persons in connection to the Al Jazeera produced "Stealing Paradise".

Speaking to Avas on the documentary, ACC President Hassan Luthufee said the most of the topics covered in the report were already part of the money laundering and embezzlement cases of MMPRC, already under Commission's investigation. He said the report did not highlight any new information pertinent to the case.

However, he said additional individuals needed to be questioned in connection to the report, adding that no additional information can be revealed on the investigation.

"There's nothing new in the report, all of it have been reported in local medias in detail. Those who carried these acts out in effect confessed to their crimes," Luthfee said. "ACC report was finished when the Al Jazeera report was aired. In light of that report, we need to follow up on this,"

The Al Jazeera report showed messages, photos and transactions made with various parties all take from Adeeb's phone. Most of the information was provided by main shareholder of SOF Mohamed Allaam Latheef, former member of FAM Normalization Committee Oittey and Ishaq Latheef. All are wanted for the investigation.

Luthfee said they were still unsure when the MMPRC report will be released, adding that this was the biggest investigation carried out by the Commission so far.
