One arrest made in Western Union theft

Maldives Police Service has confirmed that an arrest has been made in connection to the theft in Western Union, Sunday night. Police, however, had failed to confirm when the arrest was made.

As part of the investigation, Police had searched the 10 story building in being constructed in H. Four Winds. Two were arrested on location but Police had said the two were not connected to the Western Union case.

Out of the stolen amounts, Police had been able to recover MVR 1.2 million and US$ 321,603. Police added that the total amount stolen in the case is yet to be confirmed.
