Ahmed Khaleel appointed as Secretary, Bilateral at MoFA

President Yameen has appointed Ahmed Khaleel as Secretary, Bilateral at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The appointment was made at the level of State Minister.

Since 1982, Ahmed Khaleel has served extensively in various positions at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and at various Diplomatic Missions of the Maldives. Khaleel most recently served as the Maldivian Ambassador to Japan, since 28th October 2009. Prior to that, he has served as the Permanent Representative at the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Maldives to the United Nations.

He had served as the Third Secretary at the Maldivian Embassy in Sri Lanka, Third Secretary at the Permanent Mission of the Maldives in UN, as well as Second and First Secretary. He had also served as Deputy Director at Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Affairs, Director, Deputy Director General and Executive Director.
