Drugs smuggled in via Brazil seized at the airport

Maldives Customs Service has seized 2.8 Kilos of drugs at the airport from a Bolivian woman. The drugs were found inside her suitcase.

Customs has today said that they have seized 2.8 Kilos of drugs entering the country on the 26th of last month from a Bolivian woman who came to the Maldives from Brazil. Customs informs that the woman was checked by passenger clearance officers upon exhibits of suspicious behavior, and that the drugs were found within the woman's suitcase. Customs also informed that the drugs have been tested an turned out positive to cocaine.

Drugs were also seized from a incoming passenger aboard an Emirate flight. Customs say that the man was checked for looking suspicious and that the search turned up 840 grams of drugs in his suitcase. These drugs were also tested and turned out positive to heroin. Both culprits and the drugs have been handed over to the police, and the police inform that they are investigating this matter further.
